This is my typical Friday night/ Saturday morning regimen. You'd find a similar regimen on every other hair blog but this I modified to fit my laziness level.
1.Apply warmed coconut oil on scalp and hair and cover with plastic or heating cap and a scarf towel (will steam in the future) and run errands: vacuuming/ sweeping, laundry and cooking or just watch a movie, read my bible, etc. I wash after two hours or leave overnight depending on the evening. Coconut oil get easily absorbed into hair shaft more than other natural oils. When I shampoo, I am tempted not to apply conditioner cuz my hair feels so soft.
2. I shampoo with any cheap moisturizing shampoo. Suave Almond-Shea butter and Pantene relaxed and Natural have been my go-to shampoos.
3. I either do an apple-cider vinegar rinse (bi-weekly) or tea rinse (once a month), massage in hair, leave for a few minutes then rinse out.
4. deep condition under heating cap for an hour and workout or watch tv to kill time (I don't have a hood dryer or steamer here...they're too bulky, but I will deep condition in a salon when I get to Nigeria). I mix up hair mayo/cholesterol with a grapeseed oil.
5. apply leave-in conditioner and detangle with wide tooth comb.
6. air dry (usually overnight if staying in or blow dry and style), flat iron if necessary (with heat protectant CHI serum and grapeseed oil). I only use heat on my hair once a month.
7. moisturize hair strands focusing on the dryer and older ends
8. lightly apply castor oil on scalp, and seal ends with grapeseed oil.
9. Pony tail or bun (not with a rubber band which can cause breakage and reduce length) or get a weave, wig, cornrows, braids to protect the hair from the 'elements.'
10. wrap under a satin or silk scarf or bonnet or use a silk pillow to sleep.
Pretty generic regimen
